Our Story
Khat & Keepsakes is a mail club for people who live in one place but carry another one with them.
Each month, I send out an envelope built around a feeling or word at the heart of Pakistani diaspora life, things like jostajoo (deep longing), celebration, or soft courage. Inside, you’ll find a warm, chatty letter, an art print or postcard, and a few tiny keepsakes inspired by Pakistani culture and everyday “in‑between” moments. Everything is made to be used and enjoyed: pinned above your desk, tucked into a journal, or shared with someone you love.
Khat & Keepsakes is for anyone who gets excited about pretty post, who loves Eid cards and little details like bangles, dupattas and Eidi, and who wants one gentle, screen‑free ritual in their month. It’s a small, joyful pause in the middle of busy days,a way to feel connected to your roots, your people, and your own story, wherever you are now.

This A6 postcard is a little ode to Eid mornings and getting ready far from “back home.” An illustrated figure sits in her Eid jora, bangles and mehndi quietly on display, caught in that in‑between moment before the doorbell rings, the selfies start and the house fills with voices. The soft florals and warm tones echo the chaos and comfort of a Pakistani lounge on Eid day, turning a simple seated pose into a whole mood of anticipation, homesickness and joy all at once. This A6 postcard is a little ode to chai breaks and Sindhi ajrak.
A delicate teacup of doodh patti sits on top of a rich ajrak pattern, with the Urdu phrase “yeh waqt bhi guzar jaaye ga” reminding you that this moment, sweet or heavy, will eventually pass. The deep reds and blacks echo traditional Sindhi textiles, turning an everyday cup of tea into something that feels like sitting in your nani’s kitchen. Perfect to pin above your desk, tuck into a journal, or send to someone who needs a quiet, gentle reminder that they’ll make it through.

This A6 art print is the heart of June’s envelope: an Urdu phrase that reads, in English, “We too bloom like flowers with the touch of the seasons.” It’s a gentle reminder that you don’t have to be “finished” or perfect to be growing; you’re allowed to be in process, changing with whatever season you’re in.
The card is designed to sit where you’ll see it often – propped on a windowsill, pinned above your desk, or tucked into a journal – as a quiet nudge towards softness, openness and slow blooming.
